Terms of Service

Welcome to Folio Press (the "Service"), which includes the Chrome extension and the web studio at folio.chiaoban.com / folio-en.chiaoban.com. The Service is built and operated by chiaoban. By installing or using the Service, or by buying Pro, you agree to these terms.

1. What the Service does

The Service lays out your conversations from AI sites such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, or text you paste in, as A4 documents and exports them as PDF, Word, HTML, PNG, Markdown and more. All parsing, typesetting and exporting happens in your browser; see the Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

Capture depends on how third-party AI sites structure their pages. When those sites change, capture may temporarily fail or be incomplete. We do our best to fix it quickly, but we can't guarantee that capture works at all times.

2. Free and Pro

The free version costs nothing. Pro unlocks more themes and features. The current pricing page describes what each includes.

3. Purchases and licences

  • Payment: Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy handles the checkout, payment, taxes and receipts, and its own terms apply to your purchase.
  • Scope: one licence key is for one person, activated in up to 2 browser environments. Use "Deactivate" in the Pro dialog to move a slot to another environment.
  • No sharing or resale: don't share, publish or resell licence keys.
  • Lifetime: one payment gives you the current and future Pro features for as long as the Service is offered.
  • Monthly: renews every month until you cancel, which you can do anytime in the Lemon Squeezy order center. After cancelling you won't be charged again; when the paid period ends you return to the free version, and your documents are untouched.

5. Your content

What you capture, paste, edit and export belongs to you. We don't access it and claim no rights to it. You are responsible for having the right to use and share it, and for following the terms of the AI services that generated it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • crack, bypass or tamper with licence verification;
  • use the Service for anything illegal or to infringe on others' rights.

7. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is". We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we aren't responsible for the accuracy of exported content, which comes from your conversations with AI services. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any damage arising from the Service is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months.

8. Termination

If these terms are violated, we may disable the related licence key. You can stop using the Service and remove the extension at any time.

9. Changes

If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
